Federal Reserve's Caution and Job Market's Pause Point to End of Tightening Era

After holding rates steady on Wednesday, the Federal Reserve acknowledged that tighter financial conditions will likely affect economic activity, employment and inflation. Although much of Chairman Jerome Powell's press conference suggested that the Fed maintained a bias toward tightening, the market interpretation is that the rate hike cycle has likely peaked.
