Rate Cuts on the Horizon: New York Fed President Optimistic as Jobless Claims Rise

On Monday, New York Fed President and FOMC Vice Chair John Williams, one of the most influential committee members, said that "eventually, we will have rate cuts" and that monetary policy is in a very good place.

Thursday's jobless benefit claims data was released and came in at 231,000, considerably higher than the previous weeks and 212,000 expected.
